Cheese garlic naan recipe with step by step pics – no yeast cheesy garlic naan recipe on tawa or skillet or stovetop.
Naan, be it plain or buttered or stuffed with cheese is a favorite at home. I do make naans occasionally. This time around when I made these cheese garlic naans, I took photos also. I have used a mix of whole wheat flour and all purpose flour (maida) to make these naans. You can use only whole wheat flour or all purpose flour.
Few more naan recipes I have already shared are:
- Naan recipe – on stovetop. Easy naan recipe made without yeast.
- Cheese naan – without yeast on a stovetop.
- Butter naan – soft whole wheat butter naans on stove top or tawa with yeast.
- Garlic naan – made on stove top or tawa.
For the cheese, you can use cheddar cheese or a mix of cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese. Apart from garlic, you can also add some herbs and red chili flakes to the cheese stuffing.
Cheese garlic naan can be had plain or served with your curry recipe.

Dear Dassana
want to try this recipe.
can u please tell difference between baking soda and baking powder??
in india we get cooking soda ,,,, a white powder.
please reply
Arusha popat
arusha, normal cooking soda and baking soda are same. baking soda is pure sodium bicarbonate – when moistened releases carbon dioxide which helps in rising of baked stuff. baking powder contains sodium bicarbonate, an acidifying agent (cream of tartar), and also a drying agent (usually starch). same function as baking soda. however baking soda is more strong.
Hi Dassana, garlic naan looks delicious! What is the curry that you have served along with it? It looks very appetizing!
Could you please share that recipe too?
Thanks much,
Bhanu
