raw banana fry

The recipe is a basically a Simple Kerala style stir fry made with raw bananas. i have used pearl onions in the recipe. You can use shallots or even regular onions. Coconut oil is an essential ingredient in the recipe. So I would not suggest to skip it.

There are two ways you can prepare this stir fry. Either steam the bananas first or saute or steam them while cooking. I always follow the second method as I find it easier. There are many recipes that can be made with unripe bananas. I have also shared one more variation of making raw banana fry recipe that is – Vazhakkai fry.

How to make raw banana fry

1. Rinse 210 grams raw unripe bananas first. Peel them lightly. I usually remove the black spots and keep the peels as they are or peel bananas very lightly. Chop them in small cubes and add them in a bowl containing water, so that they don’t darken. Keep aside. You will need about 1.75 to 2 cups of chopped banana cubes.
