Chinese toast recipe with step by step pics. Vegetable Chinese toast is a yum Indo Chinese snack of toasted bread stuffed with a filling of mashed potatoes and mix veggies.
Chinese veg toast tastes awesome as an evening snack or a starter. You can even make these as a finger food snack for parties or get together. These toasts are similar to the Sesame toast recipe which I have shared earlier. However these Chinese toasts are not shallow fried like sesame toasts and thus are on the healthier side.
Veg Chinese toast is a fusion recipe and you can always add your choice of veggies or sauces in it. I have used both soy sauce (naturally fermented) and Indian masalas (spice powders). You can skip the soy sauce if you want or you can use any other sauce.
To make Chinese toast, you can use any type of bread whole wheat sandwich bread or brown bread or white bread or multi-grain bread. I have used whole wheat bread. The recipe can also be made with leftover boiled or mashed potatoes.
Serve vegetable Chinese toast with any sauce, dip or chutney of your choice like coriander chutney or mint chutney or tomato sauce or red chilli chutney or green chutney.
