This mixed berry smoothie recipe gives you a thick and creamy café-style berry blast drink made with fresh or frozen berries, yogurt and banana. Strawberries form the base while blueberries, mulberries and raspberries add flavor, color and slight tang. Greek yogurt makes the smoothie rich and creamy, while banana naturally sweetens it. This mixed berry smoothie is easy to customize with your preferred berries, liquids and sweetener.
Rinse all the berries well and drain thoroughly. Hull and chop the strawberries if needed.
Add all the berries, banana and Greek yogurt to a blender.
Add sugar or maple syrup depending on how sweet or tangy the berries are.
Blend till smooth and creamy. Add about ¼ to ½ cup of milk or water if the smoothie looks too thick.
You can also add a few ice cubes if you prefer a colder smoothie and blend again briefly.
Taste and adjust sweetness or consistency as needed.
Pour into glasses and serve immediately.
Notes
Use the berries that are easily available to you or your preferred combination of berries.
Both fresh and frozen berries work well in this recipe, so you can use either.
Fresh berries usually blend without needing extra liquid.
If using frozen berries, use about 2½ cups total berries and add some milk or water while blending as the smoothie becomes more thick and slushy. Add liquids gradually so the smoothie does not become thin.
I have used black raspberries, but red raspberries can also be used.
Strawberries form the base of the smoothie, while the remaining berries add flavor and color. If you do not prefer a slightly gritty texture from raspberry seeds, reduce the raspberries to ⅓ or ¼ cup.
Greek yogurt gives a rich creamy texture, though regular yogurt can also be used.
Banana naturally sweetens the smoothie. If skipping it, you may need to add extra sweetener.
