Add whole wheat flour, oil or ghee and salt in a mixing bowl. Start adding water in parts and knead.

Pinch a medium-sized ball from the dough. Dust with some flour and flatten on a clean surface that’s also dusted with a bit of flour.
Roll the dough using a rolling pin, into a disc of about 4 inches diameter.
Next, use the back of a spoon to spread some ghee (or oil) on the surface of the disc.
Fold the disc in half with the spoon.
Spread some more ghee on this folded half of the dough.
Fold sideways to create a triangle shape.
Dust the folded triangle with some flour.

Once all the dough is rolled out into discs or square shaped parathas, place it on a tawa on medium heat.
The paratha will begin to puff up from the heat. Roast on medium to high heat.
When the bottom of the paratha is about ¼th browned, flip it over with a spatula.
Spread some ghee on the paratha.
Flip again, when the second side is about ½ way cooked and spread some ghee on this side too.
