Palak Soup (Spinach Soup)

Rinse spinach leaves well in water. Drain all the water.

Chop the rinsed spinach leaves.

Heat oil in a pan. Add bay leaf (tej patta) and sauté for 3 seconds.

Add chopped garlic and sauté till lightly browned.

Add chopped onions and sauté till they soften.

Add chopped spinach, salt and black pepper.

Stir well to combine.

Pour in water. For a more flavorful soup, you can add vegetable stock instead of water.

Bring the mixture to a boil on medium-low to medium heat.

After the mixture comes to a boil, simmer for 3 to 4 minutes on low to medium-low heat.

Add cumin powder and mix well.

Switch off the heat and remove the pan from the stovetop. Let the mixture cool slightly.

Before blending, remove the bay leaf from the mixture.

Once the soup mixture has cooled, blend it till smooth. To know more, swipe up!

Turn the stovetop heat back on to medium, bring the palak soup to a gentle simmer. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
