Take quick-cooking oats or rolled oats in a pan.

Add water to the oats.

Add milk. Consistency can be adjusted as per your requirements.

Add sugar as per taste. It is optional. If adding fruits later, skip the sugar. If adding honey, add when the porridge becomes lukewarm or cools down to room temperature.

Stir well and heat the mixture on a low to medium flame.

Simmer the porridge. Stir often.

Cook for 5 to 6 minutes. It will thicken as it cooks.
