Heat oil in a pan or kadai and add the sliced onions.

Quicken the process of cooking the onions by adding salt.

Sauté the onions till they turn light golden.

Sauté the onions till soft and light golden, not crisp or browned.

Add slit green chilies.

Sauté for half a minute.

Add chopped mushrooms and stir.

Add cumin powder, turmeric powder, black pepper powder, red chili powder, garam masala powder and salt.

Mix spices well with the mushrooms and sauté on low to medium heat.

Continue to cook till all the moisture evaporates and oil is seen in the mixture.

Sauté till the mushrooms turn light golden and the mixture is dry. Add chopped coriander leaves.

Stir and cook the mushroom mixture for a minute.
