Moong Dal Halwa

Soak moong dal in enough water for overnight.

Drain moong dal and grind to a smooth paste with some water.

Melt ghee in a kadai or pan.

Add the ground moong dal.

While the halwa is cooking, heat together full fat whole milk, water and sugar in another pan. Bring it to a boil.

The moong dal will get separated. It will have a granular consistency. To know more, swipe up!

Once the milk comes to a boil, it has to be added to the moong dal.

Pour the boiling milk mixture on the fried moong dal. The mixture will sizzle. So, be careful while adding the hot milk mixture.

Stir the mixture well.

Simmer and cook the moong dal halwa. Stir often.

The liquid should get absorbed and once again you will see the ghee getting separated. This will mean the halwa is done. To know more, swipe up!
