How to Make Ghee

Place 500 grams of unsalted cultured butter in a pan over medium heat. Allow the butter to melt.

Once the butter melts, stir in intervals.

Once the butter has melted, reduce to heat and allow it to simmer.

Allow the milk solids to simmer to the top. Keep simmering the butter.

It should look like this.

Continue to stir.

Continue to simmer until all the milk solids have settled.

Once you see the bubbles, continue to simmer for 1-2 minutes.

Remove from heat and place on countertop. Don't worry about the bubbles– they will go away.

The mixture should turn  into a golden color. The color will darken.

Wait until the simmering stops and the browned bits of milk at the bottom.

Net, strain the ghee into a strainer or cheesecloth over a mason jar.
