French Fries Recipe
First, rinse potato well and peel. Peeling the skin is optional.
Now slice the potato in slices having 1 cm thickness. Before slicing, you can remove the top and bottom part of the potato to get a square or rectangle shaped potato.
Cut the potato in sticks with 1cm width.Then, cut the remaining potatoes into sticks.
Rinse potato sticks for a couple of times in water. Add the rinsed potatoes to a bowl & soak them in cold water for 30-45 mins to remove extra starch.
After the potatoes have been soaked, then drain the fries with water in a colander.
Next, rinse the potatoes with water.
Next, allow the potatoes to dry on a linen.
Fold the napkin over to press, pat and dry the potatoes. The potatoes have to be completely dried before you begin to fry them.
Heat oil in the pan. The oil should reach a temperature of 130 to 135 degrees Celsius (275 degrees Fahrenheit).
Next, add the potatoes to the oil, but do not overcrowd. The oil with sizzle.
Begin to fry the potatoes and stir with a spoon.
Cook the potatoes for about three minutes, then remove from the oil.
Place the half fried potatoes on paper kitchen towels and drain the oil.
Increase the heat of the oil to a temperature of 180 to 185 degrees Celsius (356 degrees Fahrenheit
Add the potatoes to the oil and cook.
Fry the chips for three minutes, then remove from the oil with a slotted spoon.
Place the fries on the paper towel again to drain the oil.
Sprinkle the fries with some salt, paprika or red chili flakes, dried herbs or dry rosemary.
Gently shake the fries so the salt and spices can evenly coat them. Serve with any type of sauce like ketchup.
