sitaphal cream: easy sitaphal cream or custard apple cream, vegan recipe

if you have lived in mumbai then you will know about sitaphal cream.

basically it custard apple pulp mixed with chilled cream… you guessed it right. sitaphal is the hindi word for custard apples….

if you have had the sitaphal cream, then you know it is such a WOW dessert.

custard apples are in season here. so when we got them, i wanted to make the sitaphal cream. now i did not want to use regular cream.

so since my fruit salad with cashew cream was such a success, i had no second thoughts on which vegan cream to use.

so there i added cashew cream with some organic cane sugar and vanilla and had a beautiful bowl of custard apple cream.

now the dessert was a creamy, sweet dessert and you don’t miss the regular cream here.

this dessert has become a hot favorite at home now.

you can use regular regular cream instead of cashew cream.

My mother made this differently. She would blend the custard apple pulp. Then blend is some milk and sugar if required. Then thicken it with a little cornflour. Serve it chilled. Have been wanting to make this sometime, but somehow have never been able to get those big-eyed custard apple for a few seasons now!

This looks super yummy…As a kid used to eat lot of this fruit…Had a tree at home..:) Its long that I dint have it..Loved the presentation..White on white is really tough to capture..Loved that..and the little colors by saffron and flower..
Hey regarding the spoon stuff…I too find it really tough to place it properly…after some attempts I just drop it somewhere and sometimes that works for me…:)

I love sitaphal. We have got sitaphal tree in out front garden in India and used get loads during the season. I am back to my childhood which brought me tears in my eyes. We can’t get here which really strange as Almost every single fruit we get here in UK on its season time.

Great sitaphal cream recipe though. Lovely clicks as usual. I love the flower display too. It looks very pretty.
