eggless french toast recipe with step by step photos – quick and easy recipe for a sweet french toast made without eggs.

on some days when i have a bread loaf in the fridge, i make these french toasts. they are super quick and easy to make.

while growing up, this was one of those breakfasts that was made at home, at least twice a week. we used to make these with eggs then. later i started making them just with milk and sugar. i have been making these eggless french toasts for quite some time now.

in the recipe, custard powder is added as a substitute for eggs and it works very well. there is a crisp texture on the toasts and the insides are soft. like mentioned before, i have made these with just milk and sugar too, but then the toasts do not get that crisp and tend to be more on the softer side. nevertheless these too also taste good.

french toasts always have to served hot or warm. don’t serve them at room temperature, as then they no longer have the crisp texture from outside. you can serve them with milk, tea or coffee. you can even drizzle some maple syrup on top. if drizzling honey, then drizzle it once the toasts have become warm. you can also top them with berries or fruits.

for making these french toasts, use any good quality bread – whole wheat, brown, oatmeal, multi grain or white bread. even sandwich bread works well. homemade breads are best. if you are using a loaf, then make slightly thick slices. this recipe can be doubled and tripled. depending on the size of the bread slices, you can make 4 to 6 slices of french toasts.
