in Ambience of Kitchen, Benefits of Vegetarianism

Cooking is an important and almost essential activity in any woman’s life. Almost, we spend minimum 3-4 hours in kitchen. So approximately 15% of our life time is spend in the kitchen. But this is one area of the house which is mostly neglected. Some times people pay more attention to the bathrooms or reading room than to the kitchen.

Why do we neglect kitchen area which is the place which nourishes the whole house. I feel the energy of the kitchen not only affects the food but it also affects the lady in a big way. Design of Kitchen can easily uplift the mood of the lady in a very subtle way. Kitchen is almost a working place for a lady. If the men goes out to office to earn bread then women makes sure that the bread is not only eatable but also sweet and nutritious to eat.

So, I am much very in favor of making our kitchen an idle place to work. I am not pointing at the Vasstu or Feng Shui guidelines while designing the kitchen, but the lady should be consulted while designing the kitchen. Some few points which should not be overlooked are:

  1. Color of the kitchen. It should always be uplifting color or could be favourite color of the woman.
  2. Kitchen window should ideally face an open area, so that lady can some times look out and have some creative ideas.
  3. Kitchen platform should be according to the height of the lady. It can prevent much cervical back problems in later years.
  4. What about arrangement for a soft and loving music in the background?

Hello Dassana,

I found your website while I was looking for recipes of rawa idlis made in the microwave.
I simply love the way you express yourself. There is a simplicity and honesty with the way you write about your passion for food and meditation that gives a very positive vibe to the reader.

I haven’t tried any of your recipes yet but I will soon enough. I think I will be trying the french bean recipe first but I am going to leave out the aloo as my kids don’t like mixed preparations. I hope it doesn’t affect the taste too much as I am going to leave out the garam masala too so that it is more acceptable to the children’s sensitive palate. I will let you know how it goes.

Thank you for your lovely website. Keep the recipes coming.

thanks heena for the lovely comments.

for the beans aloo recipe, its alright if you do not add potatoes to the beans and the garam masala. as a variation, instead you could add some coriander/dhania powder, cumin seed/jeera powder and fennel seeds/saunf powder.
